Secret Scars The whipping began. Luke clenched his teeth to keep from crying out in pain for the first five minutes. After that, he really didn't feel it anymore. After a while, he thought to himself, it really doesn't hurt anymore. You even get used to it, and just listen to the cracks across your back. Somehow, you just kind of drift away, as if you were being lulled to sleep by the constant beating sound. Just like rain beating against a window pain. Luke smiled weakly to himself, As long as he could take it like a man, he thought... and then there was darkness and the pain was saved for later as he slipped into unconsciousness. |
